P-04-576 Allow Children in Wales to Have a Family Holiday During Term Time – Correspondence from the Petitioner to the Committee, 14.06.17

Thank you,

There seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding about our campaign, clearly this committee have not read all our previous evidence put before the original committee, from the previous assembly. All we are asking is that the consortia stop interfering, with Headteachers doing their jobs, and that when the consortia do interfere, the Welsh Assembly upholds its own laws that are already in place. The law states that parents have the right to ask for a 'term time holiday', this is at present being denied in most Welsh Schools, because of the direct pressure being put on Head teachers by the consortia.

All schools should have a holiday request form

All Head teachers should have the 'H' code to use at their discretion, in order to allow it, if after individual consideration they feel that it would be appropriate to do so.

In removing the forms and the 'H' code the consortia are contravening Welsh law, we want this stopped.

If it is not stopped that proves that the Welsh Assembly are not in control of Education in Wales, if this is the case are you in control of anything else, or is the whole thing a scam?

I REPEAT, WE DO NOT WANT THE LAW CHANGED, WE WANT IT UPHELD.

I really do not see what is difficult to understand about this, and hope I have made it simple enough for you to grasp
